Meet John Webb, MD
Dr. John Webb is a skilled healthcare professional who is currently serving as the COO of Men’s Health Boston, a Beth Israel Care Organization and Harvard Medical School affiliated practice. Through his work here, Dr. Webb both directs the daily operations for the organization and acts as the financial officer in charge of budgeting and forecasting. What makes Dr. John Webb a unique individual and skilled professional is his ability to marry together his knowledge of healthcare with his business acumen to examine the healthcare industry as a whole.
Growing up, Dr. John Webb had a knack for many of the skills necessary to be a successful businessman. At just twelve years old he was already making plans to become a CPA in Atlanta, and in high school, that interest was furthered through accounting classes. While a student, Dr. Webb was selected to be part of an experimental group lead by a financial advisor, and an interest in business was sparked.
After graduating high school, John developed a few businesses of his own to fill white space opportunities he saw around him. A businessman at heart, he would pour any earnings he made back into his business, upgrading products and purchasing better equipment to attract new clients or customers and provide better service overall. When he graduated from Chiropractic school, he decided to open his own business immediately and get started. At 25 years old, he negotiated for practice space with a seasoned physician and redid the entire office himself to get ready.
When it comes to the healthcare industry as a whole, Dr. John Webb sees the business side of medicine and the healthcare side of medicine as going hand-in-hand and having an incredible symbiotic relationship. At its core, business is taking ideas and concepts and using them to offer a service to individuals to make money. Healthcare, at its core, is about providing the best care to your patients using the latest cutting-edge technology. In order to have the best tech at your disposal, you need to have money to make that possible. The integration between business and healthcare in medicine is what will build a strong future in the industry and see a future where people are offered better, more personalized care. For Dr. Webb, the ideal future of healthcare is one in which we can operate using financially viable models for providers to both save as much money as possible for the patients while being profitable enough for providers in the first place.
